Chatting with the Knowledge Assistant

How to open the Knowledge Assistant, start and continue chats, copy responses, and move or resize the chat window.

The Knowledge Assistant gives you instant access to multiple AI-powered experts that can provide accurate answers, generate content, and more.

Opening the Knowledge Assistant

Click the Knowledge Assistant icon to open the Knowledge Assistant. The icon appears on every page in Joy, so you can get expert assistance wherever you are.

When you first open the Knowledge Assistant, you see two columns:

  • Projects and Chats: Lists the projects you have access to and all your past chats.
  • Chat: Where you talk to an assistant.

Along the top of the window are icons to hide your projects and chats (Menu) and to close the window (Close). The Knowledge Assistant icon itself also closes the window when it is open.

Press Enter on your keyboard or click the Send icon. The assistant replies right away.

When you send your first message, Joy uses it as the name of the chat and adds it to your list of projects and chats. This makes it easy to find previous chats so you can review them or continue where you left off.

Start a new chat whenever you switch to a new topic or task to get the best responses and keep your chat history organized. For example, keep one chat for a specific client, another for a service your organization offers, and another for internal policies.
