About tasks
What a task is in Joy and how the Tasks page helps you track your assignments and deadlines.
A task represents something you need to do in Joy. For example, you may have a task to read a FlexDoc or view a file. A task is automatically created whenever something is assigned in Joy — so anything you assign to your team, such as assigned learning, lands on the Tasks page.
Tasks help clearly define expectations — like a to-do list — and make it easy to stay on top of assignments and deadlines. They work alongside your existing tools to help you assign assets and track completion inside Joy.

The Tasks page
You can quickly see a list of all of your tasks, and the tasks you've assigned to others, from the Tasks page. You can also view the assets associated with those tasks and view more details about a task, such as its due date, current stage, and more.
On the Tasks page, tasks are organized into columns based on their stage — Not started, In progress, Warning, Overdue, and Completed. This layout, often called a Kanban view, lets you see everything you need to do at a glance so you can prioritize your time and spot critical items that are overdue.
