About connectors

How connectors let Joy search across your other systems — CRM, HRIS, LMS, and more — from one place, safely and permission-aware.

Your information rarely lives in one place. Sales data sits in your CRM, support tickets in your help desk, policies in your HRIS, and training records in your LMS. Connectors let JoySuite reach into those systems and search them alongside your Knowledge Center — so your team can ask one question and get one complete answer instead of hunting across a dozen tabs.

Connectors work alongside the tools you already use. Joy doesn't move your files or replace any system — including your LMS. It connects, reads, and searches, leaving your source systems exactly as they are.

One search, every system

Once a system is connected, its content becomes searchable from the same place you already ask questions. You can ask about a single system or ask questions that span several at once. For example, "Show me open support tickets for customers who haven't completed onboarding training" pulls from your support tool and your LMS together, then returns a single grounded answer.

Because answers are drawn from your connected systems, Joy can point back to the sources behind a response — the same cited-answer experience you get across the Knowledge Assistant. Here's an interactive example of a cited answer:

How long does customer onboarding take?

A standard onboarding runs two to three weeks, covering workspace setup and connectors in week one and team training by week three.

What you can connect

JoySuite offers a growing library of connectors across a range of system categories, so you can bring the tools your team relies on into one search:

  • Business tools — CRM, support, and project systems such as Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot, Jira, and more.
  • HR systems — HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, Workday, and Rippling.
  • Learning (corporate) — corporate LMS platforms such as Docebo, SmarterU, and LearnUpon.
  • Learning (academic) — academic platforms such as Moodle, Canvas, and Blackboard.
  • Collaboration — tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Google Workspace.
  • Custom connectors — connect to your own services through REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, and other interfaces.

New connectors are added over time, so the exact list you see may be longer than the examples above.

Safe by design: permission-aware and read-only

Connectors are built to fit inside your existing security, not around it.

Permission-aware and read-only by default. Users only see data they're already authorized to access in the source system, and connectors read your systems rather than change them. That means no accidental edits to your CRM, HRIS, or LMS — safe to roll out from day one.

Because access follows the permissions in each source system, a sales rep and a manager asking the same question can see different results — each scoped to what they're allowed to see.

Joy includes a native connector for SmarterU LMS. It's a deeper, purpose-built connection that makes your LMS fully conversational: you can ask about enrollments, completions, and learner activity in plain language and get grounded answers back — no reports to run or dashboards to dig through.

The SmarterU connector complements your LMS — it doesn't replace it. Your courses, records, and workflows stay in SmarterU; Joy simply makes them searchable and easy to ask about.
