Release notes

Here's what's new in Joy, from big features to small fixes.

Week of October 26, 2026

3 new features · 2 enhancements · 5 fixes

Task introduction window

Know what’s expected and when it’s due before you dive in. When you open a task you haven’t started yet, an introduction window shows the task’s description, due date, who assigned it, and any message they added. Click Start to begin, or Back to come back to it later.

Assigned tasks in the Knowledge Center

Working on a task in the Knowledge Center is now clearer. When you open a Knowledge Center file assigned to you as a task, a banner at the top of the preview flags it and shows when it’s due. From there, click Show Task to see the details, then click Start to begin.

Wider chat option for the Assistant

Make the most of your screen space when you chat with the Assistant. When the Assistant is open from the menu, click the Expand chat width icon at the top of the chat to use the full width of the page. Joy remembers your choice, so the chat opens at the width you prefer.

Enhancements

  • Images across Joy load more sharply, including Knowledge Center banners and file cards, branding images, and user photos in the Management Center. User photos also stay steady while a page loads.
  • Columns in the table view on the Tasks page are wider, so names and dates are easier to read.

Fixes

  • After you use a command, like /quiz, the Assistant keeps following it for the rest of the conversation, so you don’t need to repeat it.
  • Labels in flowcharts and diagrams created by the Assistant fit better inside their boxes.
  • The Change password window now opens as a scrollable panel from the bottom of the screen on mobile.
  • Images in Assistant replies now show in full on mobile.
  • On mobile, choosing a command from the Commands panel adds it to the Assistant’s chat box and keeps the text you had already typed.

The Assistant can read whole documents and spreadsheets

Get accurate answers from long documents and large spreadsheets. When you ask the Assistant about a Knowledge Center file, it now reads the entire file instead of only the sections that seem most relevant, so totals, counts, and percentages are accurate. For example, if you upload a training spreadsheet and ask for the completion rate, the Assistant counts every row and gives the correct figure.

Full-file reading also improves summaries, reports, charts, lessons, and quizzes built from long documents.

Enhancements

  • When you upload a file to the Knowledge Center, the title Joy suggests now reads more naturally. Words that run together are split apart, and labels such as Draft or Do Not Use are kept at the end. For example, PMIDeltaEngineering_SafetyManual_DRAFT.docx becomes PMI Delta Engineering Safety Manual (Draft). You can still change any title yourself.
  • If you’ve contacted support about a Knowledge Center file that couldn’t be processed, you can pick up the same conversation later. Click Contact support on that file again to reopen your chat with its full history.
  • Google Drive files in the Knowledge Center now show an up-to-date preview and processing status, and the Google Drive icon has a new look.

Fixes

  • Long text in flowcharts and diagrams created by the Assistant now wraps onto several lines, so every label shows in full.
